Hello everyone,
Spas in Thailand are a relatively new phenomenon and one that has only very recently increased in popularity. Furthermore, Spas are not only popular and fashionable with foreign tourists and expatriates, but the local Thais are also enjoying this new alternative therapy, one which is often ideal to ensure a smooth natural balance as well. Therefore, I am interested to know more about the Spas tourism industry, how tourist's satisfaction and the service could be improved for a better quality in Thailand. This is the reason why Thai Spa becomes my research topic.
Any other suggestions and additional information about this topic will be highly appreciated. Hope you will enjoy my topic and welcome to my blog.

ReplyDeleteI think thai spas and thai massage well known from a lot of tourist even thai people, on the other hand some tourist think about thai spas or massage in negative attitude. I think you should study about that also.

ReplyDeleteFor Spa tourism, You might need to look at both as a sole service and add-on to other tourist package. You should focus on one topic and narrow it donw to very specific topic. You might need to look at the previous literature about Spa tourism and there usually provided with further posible research. Moreover, I suggest you use questionare as method to collect data on customer satisfactory and also how to improve services.Hope this helps...

ReplyDeleteI think this is a really great topic to investigate. I'd like to know the reasons people go to Spas and if those reasons are changing. Is it just for pampering or do they see health benefits as well?
Here in the UK, I think more and more people are going to spas to loose weight and recover from their stressful lives. Maybe you could compare services offered in UK spas with Thai spas?

Hi fern. I think you choose the right topic to research for your dissertation. I am strongly agree with you that spas, massages or any welling beauty theraphies are major trend in tourism in Thaliland. I am sure you can research so many different catagories of spa tourism depend on your approaches.

It seems quiet interesting, I've never been in a thai spa. The reason is, that we do not have any place here in Switzerland, I wonder myself why. I can imagine that a lot of people think the same way I do. Maybe you can point out with your work, why thai spas are not very popular in Europe.

...Thailand is a county thas has been associated to health and wellness tourism for decades. Now that there is a worldwide health and welness tourism boom. Also caused by a growing middle class in south east asia, which can afford these services your topic becomes even more important. There is a lot to do research on. Nice topic choice!
ReplyDeleteThai Spa is very popular in The US. I was the one who usully used to go to The Thai spa for massage when i was in The US. Unfortunately, i've never heard that there is any "Good" thai spa in England and some place else in Europe. On the contrary, there are so many Thais who live over there..
